Stipple Quilting
I decided to stipple quilt the inch borders that surround the mum blocks. I am using the same gold YLI Varriations thread. I am really loving using this thread. It quilts so smoothly and I really like the shine. Have one corner left to stipple then it is on to the outside borders.

More Machine Quilting

I finally got the machine quilting done on the backgrounds of last two mums. I do like the triangle quilting on the teal flower background but not sure about the purple one. It almost seems too busy but don't think I will rip it out though. I am thinking of doing something to the purple flower to make it stand out and probably the others too. It blends into the background too much. Any ideas? Have thought of crayons, paint sticks, colored pencils but don't know what to try. I should have considered it before it was fused down and changed it then but didn't. I had orange and yellow fabric I could have made the flowers from and one of those might have been a better choice.
Well, it is the way it is and now I need to fix it so please give me some ideas.

Threads Across Nebraska
I spent the day in Grand Island on Saturday at Threads Across Nebraska. Was a fun day spent looking at all the quilts, shopping the vendors and especially visiting with quilting friends. It was so much fun to have my doll beds and miniatures on display. The chairman of Threads arranged to have a curio cabinet delivered from a Grand Island store for me to put my doll beds into for display. That worked out great and they were secure as well.
The small miniature wall hangings were hung on the PVC pipe stands for display. Since they are small they all fit.
I realized when I went to get out of the car in Grand Island that morning I didn't have my camera with me. Of course I blame it on my good friend ;-) Janet gave me the best insulated cup that I take with me everywhere and I wanted to take it with me that morning. I stopped by the refrigerator as I was leaving the house to fill it with ice and water. Of course I sat my camera on the counter and after I put the lid on the cup I headed out to the car, forgetting the camera. Now don't you think I should blame my friend since she gave me the cup, or am I reaching....hmmm?
Well, it is a good thing Janet was at Threads vending for her store Quilter's Delight. She let me borrow her camera then sent the photos to me this afternoon. Now that is a good friend!
I don't get photos taken of myself too often....now I know why. How come I never look the way I think I look....tall, young, slim, etc.? Maybe it was my flowered ruffled shirt!

Background Quilting - Flower #1
I really like the design I quilted in the background of this first flower. It was an easy design to quilt too. I am using YLI Variations trilobal polyester thread in a variegated gold color. It is beautiful thread and I love the way it looks on the quilt. This thread is 2 ply 35 weight thread.Hmm...want to do a different design behind each flower but what to do, what to do?
Don't think I will make it to the Threads show today as I have PT at 10:00 am and an eye apt. at 1:00 pm but will be there all day tomorrow. Will take photos of the show and share them with you later.
